Stuart W. Black, 62, of Roberts passed away at 6:17 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2021 at his home.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Oak Cemetery, Cowden, Illinois. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Stuart was born January 20, 1959 in Chicago the son of Jerry "Rodell" and Leona Ziolkowski Black. He married Crystal Hendrickson Hornback April 21, 2007 at Living Word Church, Roberts. She survives.

Along with his wife Crystal, he is survived by a son, Dale R. Hornback of Roberts; step son, Nicholas (Lisa) Hornback of Elliott; two step daughters, Heather Hornback-Kelly of Charleston, Sarah Hornback of Loda; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; two sisters, Nettie Wagner of Benton, Kentucky, Dorothy (Lyle) Walker of Belvidere, Illinois; and brother, Jerry (Lori) Black of Shelbyville, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Donald Wagner.

Stuart proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Roberts Wagner Davis American Legion Post #641.

Stuart was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Arizona Cardinals fan. He loved fishing and spending time with family.
