Teri Lynn Hancock, 67 of Paxton, passed away at 11:25 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at her home.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton.

A private burial will be held in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Teri was born November 19, 1955, in Paxton the daughter of Stanton and Doris Kirby Fredrickson.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Arnold; a son, Marcus (Brooke) Hancock of Fisher; two grandchildren, Payton and Aubrey; her step-mother, Ruth Fredrickson of Paxton; one brother, Dave (Sherri) Fredrickson of Paxton, and three nieces Megan Schoonover, Whitney Townsend and Shelby Shields.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; one aunt and five uncles.

Teri graduated from Paxton High School in 1974. She was a self-employed entrepreneur in downtown Paxton since 1989 with multiple businesses including Hancock Transcription Services, A Picket Fence Florist and the Market Street General Store.

She was a member of the Paxton United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Paxton Chamber of Commerce and a former Paxton Park District Board member. Teri's love for Paxton's downtown was evident in many ways including bringing the original Illinois Main Street Program to town and being the founder of Paxton P.R.I.D.E.   She was the chairman of the Paxton Christmas Parade for more than 40 years and also spearheaded the Downtown Christmas Snowflake project.

Teri was a faithful servant of God, loved her family and life and enjoyed car rides looking at nature.
