Terry James Beland, 82 of Paxton, died at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Gilman Healthcare surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2026, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Pastor Brian Benz officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda with military honors.

Visitation will be two hours before the service from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday also at the funeral home.

Terry was born December 30, 1943, in Paxton the son of Arthur Weldon and Susie Arlene Wheeler Beland. He married Marjorie E. Pilcher August 29, 1964, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Paxton. She preceded him in death May 8, 2026.

He is survived by two daughters, Stacy (Michael) Clark of Paxton, Tammy (Brad) Jackman of Gardner; two sons, Matthew (Brooke) Beland of Paxton, Justin Beland of Paxton; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers Jerry (Diane) Beland of Texas, Larry (Lila) Beland of Missouri; a sister, Nancy Osbourn of California and a sister-in-law, Bobbie Pilcher of Paxton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Arthur and Thomas Beland and a sister, Darlene Pierce.

Terry graduated from Paxton High School in 1963. He was very patriotic and proudly served in the Army National Guard. He was a local businessman and entrepreneur which included working in advertisement for Paxton Printing and as a Prudential agent.

He was a member of Christian Life Church, Rantoul and the Paxton American Legion Prairie Post 150. He was also a co-leader of Promise Keepers and a mentor for Jesus is the Way Prison Ministry. Terry enjoyed woodworking and playing cards. He looked forward to attending activities for his grandchildren and always loved spending time with his family.
