Terry Lee Niemann, 78 of Buckley, died at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley with Rev. J. Kevin Wyckoff and Rev. Eric Fickel officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley with military honors accorded by the Buckley American Legion Byron A. Hickerson Post 432.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton and also Saturday from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley.

Terry was born March 12, 1946, in Paxton the son of Elmer and Irene Hartke Niemann.  He married Carol Carpenter August 31, 1968, In Bradley.  She survives.

Along with his wife, Carol, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Scott of Atlanta, Georgia; two sons, Justin (Tasha) Niemann of Fairbury and Jason (Jess) Niemann of Chatsworth; nine grandchildren Stephanie, Alex, Carson, Hannah, Esmeralda, Naomi, Noah, Luke and Owen and a brother, Randy (Carol) Niemann of Champaign.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Twyla Sellers.

Terry graduated from Buckley High School in 1964.  He served in the United States Navy for four years and 18 months of that time he was stationed in Morocco, Africa working in communications.  He lived in Piper City from 1977 until he returned to his family farm in 2015.  Terry owned and operated Niemann Electrics from 1987 until his retirement.

Terry was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley where he had served as head trustee. He was also a member of the Buckley American Legion Byron A. Hickerson Post 432 and the Sons of the American Legion, Piper City.

He enjoyed hunting, antique tractors, woodworking and being on the farm.
