Thomas A. Hewerdine, 63, of Fisher passed away at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Thomas was born October 30, 1953 in Champaign the son of Alton and Edna Thomas Hewerdine. He married Christine Spenard in Fisher, Illinois.

He is survived by two sons, T.J. (Katie) Hewerdine of Fisher, Chad Hewerdine of Paxton; one granddaughter, Kaelyn Jiles; two grandsons, Colton and Finn Hewerdine; two brothers, Maynard Hewerdine of Fisher, Wally Hewerdine of Fisher; two sisters, Rosie Zahnd of Fisher, and Melanie (Bob) Gallier of Fisher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Allen Hewerdine; and one sister, Vinalee Medders.

Tom graduated from Fisher High School and worked at Vesuvius in Fisher for many years. He was an avid Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan and loved doing puzzles. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
