Thomas (Tom) Vogelsang, 71 of Gifford, passed away on February 8th, 2025, surrounded by his family.
A Private funeral and burial will be held. Baier Family Funeral Services, Flatville is assisting the family with arrangements.
Tom was born January 19th, 1954 in Champaign, IL to Charles and Emma (Sieberns) Vogelsang. He married Ginny Brown July 5th, 2003 in Gifford, she survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents Frank and Gertie Sieberns and Ralph and Louise Loeschen.

After graduating from Rantoul Township High School, Tom worked at Birkey's and then joined his dad Charlie at Vogelsang Plumbing. He later took over the business and owned it for 40 years before retiring and passing it on to Tyler.
Tom served on the Gifford School Board as well as various positions within his church over the years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Tom was a farmer and enjoyed helping his cousin Rodney in the field. Tom and Ginny had horses and enjoyed taking trips with them and their friends. He was an avid sports fan, a coach of his kids' softball and baseball teams, loved the Cubs and Illini sports.
Tom perhaps found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He loved being a grandpa/papa, taking them on rides on his John Deere Gator, going for ice cream and donuts, and making 'Papa snacks' after school.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville or the Champaign County Humane Society. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family at www.baierfuneralservices.com.
