Timothy Ray "Tim" Burtner, 63 of Loda, passed away at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at his home.

Services will be held at a later date.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Tim was born October 12, 1958, in Paris, Illinois, the son of Charles Thomas and Mary Lou Placier Burtner.  He married Sheila Caspers August 31, 1979, at the Loda United Methodist Church.  She survives.

Along with his wife, Sheila, he is survived by one daughter, Bethany (Perry) Chaney of Paxton; one grandson, Jase Fletcher Chaney; one sister Annette Duzan of Oakland; one brother, Chuck Burtner of Oakland and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Zack Thomas Burtner.

Tim graduated from Oakland High School in 1976 and went on to receive a diesel mechanic degree from Mount Carmel.  He worked for Caradco Corporation for a number of years.

He was an expert fisherman, hunter and stained-glass artist.  He enjoyed working on muscle cars.
