Timothy B. "Tim" McGill, 55 of Paxton passed away at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at his home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton with Pastor Jimm Wood officiating.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Tim was born October 5, 1963 in Peoria the son of John I. and Mary "Patt" Hollis McGill. He married Carrie Tester December 29, 2006 in Paxton. She survives.

Along with his wife, Carrie, he is survived by two daughters, Alexandria and Rachel McGill; a step-son, Kevin Cates; two brothers, Danny (Robin) McGill of Peoria, Gary (Cindy) McGill of East St. Louis and step mother, Rebecca McGill of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James R. McGill.

Tim graduated from Richwood High School, Peoria and attended the University of Missouri, Rolla. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in England. He was a forklift operator and currently employed by Hearthside Food Solutions, Gibson City. Prior to that, he worked for Hobbico Inc., Champaign.

He was a member of the ACLU. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading, astronomy and board games.
