Todd Stewart Shively, 57 of rural Buckley, died at 11:49 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023, at his home after a valiant battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 7 at the Paxton Church of Christ, 400 W Ottawa St. with Rev. Tim Delaney officiating.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, April 6 at the Loda United Methodist Church, 200 S. Locust St. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Todd was born August 25, 1965, in Peoria the son of Stephen F. and Elizabeth Young Shively. He married Stephanie M. Lanning November 7, 1987, in Flint, Michigan. She survives.

Along with his wife, Stephanie, he is survived by a son, Michael T. Shively of Buckley; a daughter, Sara M. Shively of Buckley; his parents of Peoria; brother Kirk (Deanna) Shively of Dunlap; two nieces, Caroline and Kristin Shively; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bruce and Arlene Lanning of Swartz Creek, Michigan; special cousins and his sisters-in-law, Karen Lanning and Aimee (Mark) Adamski.

Todd graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics. He was the owner of NextGen Ag Services, LLC and an independent sales rep for Pioneer. Todd built the first bulk soybean seed site in East Central Illinois in 2008 and in 2016 built a state-of-the-art treating system. He valued his relationships with his customers as much as he valued their business. Todd was also a certified crop advisor.

He was a member of the Loda United Methodist Church and had served on various church committees. He was a former board member of the Ludlow Co-op, the ARC of Iroquois County and former trustee for Woodland Cemetery, Buckley. He was also a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Todd volunteered at the Halo House in Houston, Texas, which was a foundation dear to his heart.

He touched countless hearts and lives in his 57 years—whether it was helping others navigate their cancer journey, fundraising and advocating for Chromosome 18 Research, volunteering at church, serving his Pioneer NextGen customers or being there for his family and friends—you could always count on Todd.
