Vivian Lucille Gronewold, 98 a lifelong Buckley resident, died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2020, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton Senior Living.

She was born March 23, 1922 on a farm in Buckley the daughter of Martin and Verona Ditman Hilgendorf. She married Walter H. Gronewold on August 19, 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2008.

Vivian is survived by two daughters Susan (James) Richert of Indianapolis, IN, Linda (Darrel) Foste of Urbana; three grandchildren Katherine (Fenrick) James, Elizabeth (Stephen) Ackermann, Christopher Foste; four great grandchildren Daniel, Lydia, Rebecca and Andrew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Clifford Hilgendorf and a sister Verna Johnson.

Vivian was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley and the Flying Needle Club. She enjoyed baking and being a farmer's wife.

Private graveside services will be held at St. John's Cemetery, Buckley with Rev. J. Kevin Wyckoff officiating. Baier Family Funeral Services, Buckley is handling arrangements.
