Wanda Sue Garrett, 83 of Paxton, died at 10:49 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton.

Wanda was born October 23, 1942, in Potomac the daughter of Alva and Elsie Kurtz Knerr.  She married Jearol Leon Garrett, Sr. in Paxton.  He preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Scott (Denise) Garrett of Surprise, Arizona; a daughter, Corilynne (John) Garrett-Shirley of Brownstown, Indiana; three grandchildren, Nicholas (Kaitlyn) Garrett, Hollie (Derek) Ocker, Macaila (Evan) Barnett and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Clifford Knerr.

Wanda enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting.  She also loved telling people about the time she met Tony Bennett at Jumer's Castle Lodge in Urbana.
