Wesley "Wes" Dodd, 68 of Paxton passed away at 4:41 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. Levi Deatrick officiating.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wes was born December 10, 1949 in Herrin the son of Lester and Ester Odle Dodd. He married Patricia Martin May 16, 1981 at Carbondale. She survives.

Along with his wife, Pat, he is survived by six children, Jennifer Ward-Little of Rockford, Sara (Jeremy) Johnson of Springfield, Candace (Ricky) Dodd-Woolworth of San Francisco, California, Alexis (Jason) Mullis of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Catherine (Jason) Croy of Decatur, Joseph (Jona) Dodd of Champaign; 14 grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Edna Dodd of Hurst.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Wes graduated from Johnston City High School in 1967 and attended John A. Logan College, Carterville. He served in the United States Army for four years and also with the Army Reserve. He was employed as a welder for the Alamo Group Inc. of Gibson City.

He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and all sports. Wes loved going to auctions and antique collecting. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
