After 97 years of perfecting homemade recipes and radiating an unmistakable love, our remarkable mother, Wilma Ruth Feller Baier, safely arrived Home in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 19, 2022.

Wilma was born on May 31, 1925, in Cissna Park, as the 7 ^th of 10 children, and the last surviving offspring of Edward P. and Louisa Gudeman Feller.  She married Lawrence D. Baier on July 20, 1946 and was affectionately known as "Willie" from that day forward.

Surviving relatives include four children, Celia Daniel, Clay Baier, Stu (Patricia) Baier, and Joy Davis; eight grandchildren, Brent (Jamee) Colbert, Chadd (Sarah) Daniel, Amanda (Josh) Garrell, Jake Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Glynn (Tony) Villadavis, Luke (Michelle) Davis, Tyler Baier; and seven great grandchildren.  Also surviving are many special nieces and nephews, whom she appreciated so very much.

Wilma was reunited at the gates of heaven with her beloved husband of 50 years, Larry Baier, her son, Clark Baier, her son-in-law, Eddie Daniel, her grandson, Kyle Messer, and nine siblings, Joel, Earl, Emanuel, Edward Jr., Emily, Ann, Cora, Helen and Arlene, in addition to her mom and dad.

Wilma's relationship with the Lord began at Apostolic Christian Church in Cissna Park.  For the last 60+ years she was a member of the Church of Christ, Paxton, where she lived from the early 1960's to 2018.  She graduated from Cissna Park High School and continued her education, securing a certification in bookkeeping and office administration.  She learned how to drive and purchased her first car after Larry died in 1996.  Before learning to drive, she was a knowledgeable co-pilot and could read a map and give directions like nobody's business.

Wilma's passions were fulfilled by attending church, baking pies and cookies, gardening, singing hymns, studying the Bible, sewing and solving crossword puzzles.  She was happiest spending time with her family and hosting family dinners, serving up everyone's favorite dish, made from scratch.  There was always room at the table for family and friends to join in.  Her home was always filled with "loaner" kids.  She and Larry loved to dance and listen to music. She played the guitar in her younger years.  She will be remembered as a fiercely independent, kind, gentle and loving soul that dedicated her life to expressing God's love by serving others.  She was always positive even when times were bad – always making the best of any situation. She had the capacity to love unconditionally. When she smiled, which she did most of the time, the room lit up!

The community of Paxton remembers Wilma fondly for her many years of dedicated service as Manager of the Dairy and Frozen Food Departments at Paxton IGA Foodliner. She and Larry ran a small fishing bait shop after they retired because Larry loved to fish, and Wilma loved to keep busy. For decades she faithfully served funeral dinners at the Paxton Church of Christ for numerous grieving families.  She held her many friends from Cissna Park and Paxton dear to her heart. She also made numerous friends in Naples, Florida, where she and Larry were snowbirds until his passing in 1996.  She felt enormously blessed by her brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Church of Christ, 392 W. Ottawa Road, Paxton followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.  Wilma will be laid to rest in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
